If you had mana-restore consumable then it's ezpz. Mix it in with Lv4 Lingchi too and the boss should be dead within 4-5 turns, on a level 10-11 character. This is huge for getting damage in without retaliation, and has undoubtly been one of the main reasons I could beat the boss multiple times. Speed in this game doesn't only affect movespeed, but also action speed, so if you use tatsumaki, you'll find that you get another immediate turn. Kamaitachi's signature move is Tatsumaki, which is god-tier because it's x attacks, WITH A FREE FOLLOW-UP. So it would be highly unlikely that you had 5 life powders going into the fight. When you get to floor 10 you'll usually have 1-2 healing items, 1-2 buff items, and maybe a charm (considering you had to have given up 2 slots for 2 scrolls). The boss will constantly apply his bleed DoT, summon adds, and hit moderately hard so you really have to kill him before he kills you. Getting through to floor 10 is one thing, but even if you lucked out with easy spawns and instant hitodama + exits all to the end, the gatekeeper to win will always be the boss, which for me was basically a dps race. The main reason being: damage damage damage. Out of the 3 starters, the one that I got my first, and subsequent wins on was Kamaitachi. But mana was too scarce (yes it is possible to 1v1 something from full mana, but it is unfeasible hunger-wise to wait for all of it to regen before heading off again) and the damage was too low in comparison to theirs, so I found over time that the ranged classes were not ideal. I found that whenever I got to late stages, I would always get rekt by ranged mobs, so I figured the solution to that was to also play ranged.
